Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) 30m Elevation Data

Metadata

The SRTM 30m Elevation DEMS listed above are rasters that contain elevation estimates at 30 meter or 1 arc second intervals. The DEMS can be used for generating slope, aspect, and hillshade maps. They can also be used for watershed and stream delineation, 3D terrain visualization modeling, cut and fill analysis, and many other terrain mapping applications.

These SRTM 30m DEMs are an update of the SRTM 90m DEMs that were previously available on a global scale. The primary goal of the SRTM 30m DEMS is the elimination of voids in the 90m SRTM DEM. This was achieved by filling the voids with elevation data primarily from the ASTER GDEM2 (Global Digital Elevation Model Version 2) and secondarily from the USGS GMTED2010 elevation model or the USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED).

The data on this website were downloaded from http://dwtkns.com/srtm30m/. They can also be downloaded from Reverb and the Global Data Explorer..

The DEMs have been saved in GeoTiff format for distribution on this website. They were merged and clipped to each region.
